Step 1: Download the ENVI 5.5 installation file

envi55-win.exe for 32-bit or 64-bit Windows systems

Note: The Windows installation file includes both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of ENVI. The Macintosh installation file requires the Apple X11 Window System to be installed on your system.

Macintosh: Double-click on the envi55-mac.pkg file that you downloaded and follow the instructions on the screen. Choose a destination folder for ENVI (the default is /Applications/L3Harris/ENVI55) and click Continue. Select the components you want to install (ENVI Classic or ENVI for ArcGIS) and click Continue. Click Install to begin the installation.
